In December 2019, I created my Instagram account, and it’s been a long journey since then.
Growing up in Bangalore, I had fallen in love with its starry skies, samosas, delicacies, and celebrating the festivals of Diwali and Holi with loved ones. Even our frustrated bus driver yelling at us every day to not be late strangely delighted me. It took just one day for all of that to change.
The word ‘wrong’ has a certain sense of foreboding associated with it. When you find yourself in a ‘wrong’ situation, your hands get clammy, your heart feels like it is sinking and there is this tiny little voice that keeps telling you ‘no’. It is just the way human beings are wired, their bodies starting to react the moment they do something that does not align with their idea of morality.
Books are immortal; don’t get me wrong, censorship and burning copies were enough to drive certain books to extinction. I mean that once the words are penned down and the idea is shared, they become immortal in the minds of the readers. In a way, books are like people; they are to be loved and cherished.
When one begins to think of technology, the one thing that comes to mind is the accessibility of everything on our fingertips. One click and ten thousand things to scroll down brings in a lot of options to think about and choose from.For example, I enjoy baking and am always on the lookout for new recipes and a google search provides me with thousands of mug cake recipes to choose from. The options are overwhelming in my mind and consume a lot of my time and energy. Having said that, I find the best recipe for a novice like me to begin with but the crucial thing is to be able to get my ‘sweet’ desired result along with a balanced time spent on looking for it on the internet. Hence, it is important to know and examine the relationship that I share with technology.
